Smalls scale commercial boats are given to the fishermen in San Antonio, Zambales in Masinloc town to help them improve their catch.
Led by Wilfredo Cruz, the director of Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) in Central Luzon, the 10 38-footer fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) with 4DR5 engine will be given to the fishermen who have been venturing out to the West Philippine Sea.
The boat could travel for about 15 kilometers from the shoreline, said Cruz.
The fishermen also will receive accompanying 16-footer FRP catcher boats for more efficient fishing trips.
