Due to new and possibly vaccine-resistant coronavirus, Asian countries with Singapore and India tighten restriction announcing the stricter and border controls in monitoring COVID-19.
Scientists are still finding more about the new variant.
The variant, called B.1.1.529, has also been found in Botswana and Hong Kong, according to the UK Health Security Agency, and alarming to the variant immediately the Britain banned flights from South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, and Eswatini Friday, November 26, 2021 and asked returning British travelers from those destinations to quarantine.
Also the Japan Government decided to tighten their restrictions and border for visitors coming from the South Africa and five other countries.
India’s central government issued an advisory to all states to strictly test and screen international travelers from South Africa and other “at risk” countries.
Asian countries have fared better than those in other regions in containing the pandemic by enforcing strict preventive measures, rigorous testing and strict border controls.
